Welcome to So Very Merry!

Meredith, not looking so merry. lol

Meredith, not looking so merry. You can tell this was a selfie while driving, but I promise no animals or small children were harmed in taking this photo. (Maybe an indecisive squirrel.)

MY NAME IS MEREDITH AND I AM SO VERY MERRY!

Who are you?

SoVeryMerry.com is designed for all the DIY rock stars and fellow Creatives out there who are looking for ideas, tutorials, tips, stories, motivation and inspiration that will blow your artsy minds. Do you go out shopping, see something really cool and think “I could totally make that myself for a fraction of the price”?  Of course you do, so do I! If you like making beautiful things, being creative on a budget, and bouncing ideas off of each other, then you’ll feel completely at home here.

Who am I?

My name is Meredith, and I’m an artist, writer and blogger from Virginia. My parents have always called me “Meri” for short, so that’s where “So Very Merry” comes from. As an artist, some of my interests are rooted in Roman culture, Existentialist philosophy, Symbolist Art, Gothic Folk music, Byzantine icons, and all things that sparkle. However nerdy that may sound, I can assure you I am completely right-brained and pretty cool. (In other words, there will be no math involved on this blog!) I have a few degrees in Art; my undergrad was in Painting & Printmaking; I went back for a second Bachelors in Interior Design, and my Masters was focused on Crafts and Printmaking, so for most of my life I’ve been doing something creative. My passions range from Image Transfers to Painting to Furniture Restoration and beyond….(way beyond, but space is limited.)

More about me:

Although I am a Mom x 2 girls….(Lord help me, it’s payback time for my rebellious early years.) As far as my parenting advice goes, I have teenagers, so my advice column would probably go something like: “How to convince your psychiatrist you need a stronger dose of Xanax without appearing drug-seeking,” or “How to Punish Your Child without Involving CPS.” My kids and husband are amazing and will never expect to eat on the dining room table (since as we all know that is used for smaller art projects and a place to cut fabric….not to eat on of course.)

Let’s be friends:

Along the way there will be music, art, stories, lists, sparkly things, and an opinion or two thrown in for good measure. Sign up for my newsletter now, and you won’t miss the good stuff. You can also find me on Social Media…click the links to follow.

Welcome to So Very Merry,

Love, Meredith
