We have absolutely no kitchen cabinet storage. I do not know why I didn’t notice that when we bought the house 8 years ago, but storage has always been a problem. Luckily I found this two piece cabinet on LetGo for $40. Probably should’ve offered $10 because it was U-G-L-Y. Hubs wanted to leave it in it’s natural wood glory…..uh, no: we don’t do that.
I cleaned it with TSP (trisodium phosphate, a heavy duty cleaner) and she started to look a little bit better.
I then promptly went to work on brightening up this old gal. I used Rustoleum Chalk Paint in Linen. (Not an affiliate, I just like it because it’s inexpensive and available at Home Depot. Note: They have a spray version of this paint which I would never use on furniture. It would be streaky and blotchy…just my opinion.)
Here are just a few more shots. I got the knobs at Hobby Lobby (always wait til they’re 1/2 off, which is every other week.) I’m not really a farmhouse kinda gal, but I like the way it blended with some of the vintage items I had around, so here we go!
Threw some cute little toile contact paper in there and called it a day. (No, I don’t usually use contact paper in a piece, but since it was just for us and not a customer I thought “what the heck, fast and easy.” ) So that’s it! Nothing fancy, just a quick fix on adding some storage. Hope you enjoy!
